Triskelion Arts houses five lovely rehearsal studios, one of which is a the fully-equipped black-box performance space, the Muriel Schulman Theater, and one of which is the Douglas Elliman Studio Theater. The original space, in heart of Williamsburg at 118 N. 11th Street opened in 2000 where it thrived for nearly 15 years before its recent relocation to a two-story, stand-alone, treelined corner in Greepoint. Triskelion offers affordable rehearsal, class and performance space to hundreds of working artists and hosts a full roster of shows and classes. The Triskelion Arts Presents program presents full-length or half-evening-length work of over 50 select artists and companies every year. Additionally, Triskelion’s annual festivals feature the work of over 75 choreographers, clowns, comics, and film makers.
The organization is grateful for past or current support from Dance Theater Workshop, the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, NYSCA, the Brooklyn Arts Council/JP Morgan Chase Regrant Program, The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and The Mertz Gilmore Foundation.
Founded in 2000 by the former dance collective KICK/STANDANCE, Cary Baker, Abby Bender, Layla Childs, Anna Luckey, Sonya Robbins, Triskelion Arts was originally one dance studio/convertible black box theater on N. 11th street in Williamsburg. The organization received its 501(c)3 status in 2002. Bender took over leadership of Triskelion in 2005. With the help of Andrew Dickerson, a second adjacent studio opened in 2006 and three more were built in 2009, including an additional small theater. Annually the five lovely studios provided over 17,000 hours of affordable rehearsal and class space to dance and performing artists. The theaters presented the work of over 100 artists per year, on top of theater rentals. By 2012, the staff became its current size of two employees: Abby Bender, Artistic/Executive Director and Becky Radway, Operations Manager.
However, by 2013, the skyrocketing rents, deteriorating conditions in the building, and the need for increased visibility, led the organization to seek a new home. After its long stint in the Williamsburg 3rd floor walk-up, Triskelion began an aggressive capital campaign to fund the renovation and move to its new Greenpoint location which it occupied – at long last – in late February of 2015! Hundreds of supporters made the new space a reality. The facility is a two-story, stand-alone corner building in a wonderful, community-oriented neighborhood. It boasts improved heating, cooling, restrooms, outdoor spaces, handicapped access and increased street visibility.

Subway Directions:
Take the G Train to the Greenpoint Ave stop and walk south on Manhattan Ave, passing Milton St. then Noble St. then taking a right onto Calyer St. We are at 106 Calyer St. on the corner of Banker. You can take the L Train if you'd prefer but it's a 15-20 minute walk from the Bedford L stop (an 8-10 minute walk from our old location if you remember how to get there.) If you take the L, walk north on Berry St. past the tennis courts (parallel to and just east of Bedford) and take a left on Banker St, passing Norman and Meserole, then you come to us at the corner of Calyer.
